So the other weekend we went and saw X-Men 3 which I was very excited about because I loved the first two movies. I can honestly say that it lived up to its hype it was a great movie with humor, action, and romance all of the makings of a great movie in my mind. The only thing that was only so so was that it was basically the same as the first two with a few waging war against Magneto. I figure there is probably going to be a fourth because they hinted at it in the end and even though they are all the same they still are worth spending 2 hours enjoying them. So I would give this movie a 9 out of 10.
Chipmunks-Cute or the Pest
All winter long this winter my car randomly had issues where it would be going fine and then all of a sudden would jerk like the transmission wasn’t working. Well towards spring we took it in for its 30,000 mile check up and what do you know the mechanics found a cup full of birdseed in the engine. So next thing we decided was that we would put rat poison down in the garage thinking that would stop whatever was putting the birdseed there. It didn’t and we couldn’t find any traces of rodent in the garage. We were stumped. That was until one day we were sitting outside enjoying a spring day and next thing you know we see a chipmunk squeeze out from underneath our front steps. We assume that he had been frozen out of his home in the winter and crawled up a crack we have in our door and crawled into my car. Now the first time I saw him I thought he was very cute. That was until he started climbing our bird feeder and emptying it out weekly. Now the birds don’t come as often and we still have to fill up regularly. We figure under our step is full of birdseed by now. So my husband got creative and cut a milk gallon in half and wrapped it around the pole to get to the feeder. Only the chipmunk was smarter (it took him a day or two) and figured out if he climbed up the hanging basket pole we have like 3-5 feet away from the bird feeder and then fling himself towards the bird feeder he would sometimes make it. Now being an animal lover the first time he did this I was impressed until the second time then he hit the edge of the bird feeder with a clunk and fell to the rocks. That I didn’t like much as I didn’t like him climbing it I didn’t want a dead or knocked out chipmunk on my hands so we took that down. I don’t know whether to be impressed overall with the chipmunks ingenious or be annoyed we will have to see what else we can figure out to deter him.
Medical Insurance-Hospital Bills
Well as I said I broke my leg the other week and let me tell you I don’t like seeing how much things cost. Luckily I have medical insurance but I have no idea how much they cover. My little broken ankle was so far 15,000 that’s alot of money. One thing that you have to be careful of though is I received my bill which was not itemized. I kind of wanted to see what made up this cost and so requested an itemized bill and upon looking at it realized they charged me for 1 more screw then was in my ankle (I have the picture) and they charged me for 3 physical therapy sessions and I only had two. You have to be careful and for all those people that don’t have insurance get some! That’s just my recommendation after seeing these bills I can’t imagine not having some.
Nintendo on a Mac
Have you ever thought back to your youth when you used to play Nintendo games and they were the coolest thing? Well I still like to sometimes play these old games such as burger time, monopoly, digger, etc and when I broke my ankle and my husband realized that I was going to have quite a bit of free time on my hand he set me up with a way to play all of the old Nintendo games on my Apple Computer. The system is free here: http://bannister.org/software/nestopia.htm and then to get the games you go to the Old Computer.Com . Now mind you they are the old style games but I still think they are fun and challenging in their own way! Try it out if you want I am now that I have so much time! 🙂
Broken Ankle
Well I had some excitement this past weekend. I was helping my brother move out of his place after he graduated. My mom and I were moving a mattress down the stairs and I thought I was down all of the stairs and I wasn’t. I missed one and my left ankle twisted and sprained slightly and my other ankle went snap crackle pop! I knew instantaneously that it was broken. I helped that there was a huge bump! So in Eau Claire they did Conscious Sedation and set my foot. They said I wouldn’t remember but I remembered them setting it although it was dulled thank goodness. Then I got put on pain medication and we drove back from Eau Claire to our Hometown of Waconia. There I got checked into the Ridgeview Medical Center where the next morning I had surgery. Apparently I broke all three bones possible in my ankle. Talented I am. So now I’m on pain pills and off from work for a week. I’m going to be going stir crazy I have a feeling. Any good websites that any one is aware of to waste time I would appreciate.

Cats and Water-Likes/Dislikes
So we have this one cat Chunk, who seems to have a fascination with water. When we first bought him he had a respiratory infection and so our vet recommended we keep him in the bathroom when we took a shower or a bath. Well that was interesting he would sit on the edge and would dunk his paws in and then lick them clean. Well he would jump down and run to the door to make sure the other cat wasn’t there and then run back. Well when you don’t have claws and your paws are wet you don’t have as much traction to which he found out as he slipped and joined me in the tub. Let me tell you he jumped out of the tub just as quick and ran out of that room!
Well after that you would think he would have learned his lesson but oh no its happened a few times since. In fact today I was taking a bubble bath and he was sitting on the edge like is his usual routine and he didn’t realize his tail was hanging in the tub. Well he jumped down and all of a sudden realized there was something heavy on the end of his tail (a wet tail) and he started chasing it in circles! You would think that would be enough, oh not our cat! Then he realized my toes were sticking out of the bubbles so he jumped to attack not realizing he would go into the water. Well he got his front legs all wet! Silly cat he still couldn’t figure out how it had happened!
Crispy M&M’s-Where did they go?
So my husband and I were walking through target the other day and we realized that Crispy M&Ms have disappeared. I don’t remember hearing they were going to discontinue them but all of a sudden they are no more. My husband being the M&M fanatic that he is was very disappointed. I was too as I always liked them. I wonder what made them discontinue them.
Chronicles of Narnia-Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe
I was very excited when I first heard they had decided to make the Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe into a movie. I had read the book when I was younger and loved it and was intrigued with how they would do it. I think it came off pretty well. The youngest girl in the movie just came off annoying to me but I have a hard time finding young actors good. Even my husband who had never even heard of the movie enjoyed it and I was worried that he would get a little lost in the plot. One thing I would have to say is that you have to keep an open mind with movies like this as drawing in all these imaginary creatures sometimes not everyone enjoys it. This book always reminded me of the Lord of the Rings and I have to say I think the Lord of the Rings did a better job making the movie but this one is designed more for a younger audience. Now I bought a set of all the chronicles of narnia since I haven’t read the whole set and I’m sure they will make more of the movies so I have to get caught up!
King Kong-Excellent!
We rented the movie King Kong on Friday night and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. I had heard mixed reviews about it when it first came out and heard that it was like 3 hours long and therefore did not want to go to it in the theatre as who wants to sit that long in those uncomfortable seats. We rented it and I knew the basic concept but I thought they did a wonderful job on it. It drew me in most of the time, there were a few slower spots but overall it came off great. There was comedy, romance, and scary scenes. Something for everyone I give it a 5 out of 5 the only thing I hated about it which I knew was going to happen was the end its just sad!
