Christmas + Firefox = Tinseltown
Do you like Christmas? Do you like Firefox? Then Tinseltown is for you.
Tinsteltown is a Christmas theme for Firefox that turns your browser into a winter wonderland of Christmas fun.
If you’ve already tried Tinsteltown, then check out the update that just came out. It fixes a few bugs and adds support for Firefox 3.6.
For more information on this theme, check out the Tinseltown page.
Showcase: Indianapolis Colts Firefox Theme
I know that my Firefox Theme tutorials get a lot of attention, but I don’t always get to see the outcome. One that I know of though is the Indianapolis Colts Firefox theme.

Theme designer, madBOX20, went though my tutorials and created this football theme. Sure, he started with one of my themes, but he designed all the buttons and made a well polished, great looking theme.
Myself, I’m not a Colts fan, but I do love to see what has been created buy you, the visitors!
Tinseltown Is A Part of Mozilla’s First Fashion Your Firefox
Have you heard about Mozilla’s Fashion Your Firefox? It’s Mozilla’s way of showcasing exceptional Firefox addons and grouping them in a way that makes it easier to find great addons.
Under the Decorator heading are a handful of themes that were picked based on quality and usability. One of those addons is Tinseltown.
I’m honored that Mozilla has chosen one of my themes to showcase. I make themes because I want to and the recognition from Mozilla, along with all the positive feedback, is really appreciated.

- Addon window has snow.
- Download window has snow.
- Preferences window has a selected text color.
iPox Remix Theme Tutorials for Firefox 3
iPox Remix has been updated for Firefox 3.
iPox Remix is a set of tutorials on creating your own Firefox theme. You are provided with a starter theme that contains all the necessary files and images to get you going. It also contains a set of tutorials to help you customize the files and create your own theme.
Unfortunately I don’t have a tutorial for converting themes from Firefox 2 to 3. I did it manually and re-coded everything. It’s what worked best for me.
Tinseltown For Firefox 3 – Early Release
I’ve had quite a few people wonder where Tinseltown was. In my mind, Christmas is still a little ways away and it’s easiest to build a Christmas theme when you are in the Christmas mood. However, I pulled together an early release of Tinseltown for Firefox 3.
What’s an early release? Well it just means that it’s not completely updated. I didn’t spend to much time theming all the new elements in Firefox 3. I just quickly coded them to match with the theme. There is so much more I want to do, and will do. But for now, the early release will bring back the familiar Tinseltown look and feel for those that want to get int he holiday spirit now.
Make Firefox Pink for October
Have you heard of the Pink for October campaign? What they ask is that people modify their sites, aviators or whatever they can to add a bit of pink and spread breast cancer awareness. You may have already noticed this and just didn’t realize why things were changing to pink.
PinkHope is a perfect match for Pink for October. The Firefox theme is bright pink and integrates well in to the campaign. PinkHope has also recently been added to the official Pink for October downloads page.
What do you think? Are you going pink for October?
Halloween Firefox Theme Gets Another Upgrade
I’ve been tweaking HalloFF over the past few weeks to add a bit more Halloween to the theme.
Here is what is new in the most recent version.
- New scrollbars featuring bones. Jack Skellington is the Bone Daddy after all.
- New right click menus featuring orange options with green highlights.
- New tabs that should resemble grave stones.
- New creepy fence background for the bookmarks toolbar and other toolbars.
- New light up pumpkin throbber.
- Added a bit of orange to the find bar background.
- Cleaned up the big back button as there was some minor issues that only I probably saw.
iPox Aqua Shines in Firefox 3
I realized over the past weekend that iPox Aqua was 90% the same as iPox. And since iPox has been updated for Firefox 3, iPox Aqua shouldn’t take to much time. So I’ve updated it.
iPox Aqua has the same style and feel as iPox, with a bit more colorful buttons and brighter blues.
Now I think I have only 3 more to update.
Why I Love Theming Firefox
Theming Firefox has its good and it’s bad times. Yes, it’s a lot of work for no money, but making people happy is something I like to do too. And it appears that, according to Mozilla’s stats, I’m making a lot of people happy with my themes.
